ApacheCon NA 2010 Logo The Apache Software Foundation has announced that registration is now open for this year's ApacheCon North America. ApacheCon NA 2010, the official user conference of the Apache Software Foundation, will take place from the 1st to the 5th of November at The Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia.

The theme for the 2010 North American conference is "Servers, The Cloud, and Innovation," and it will feature a variety of educational sessions on open source technology, business and community topics ranging from beginners and intermediates, to advanced level users. The conference is divided into several different tracks, each focusing on a different component in the Apache universe. As such, there will be lectures on topics ranging from, for example, Cassandra/NoSQL, Commons and Content Technologies, to Java Enterprise Development, Felix/OSGi, Tomcat and Lucene.

As with previous conferences, Meetups, a BarCamp and Hackathon have also been planned. BarCamps are an ad hoc method of learning, “un-conference” style, and provide off-the-cuff presentations, discussions and demos, with interaction from participants.

More information about the ApacheCon NA event, including a list of speakers and a conference schedule, are available on the foundation's site. Attendance for the entire conference is priced at $1,650, however, attendees that book by Friday the 20th of September will receive an early bird discount and only pay $1,225. One day and two day passes are available from $625 with early bird discounts also provided. Other combination discounts are also available.
