ASF Logo The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) has announced that, during its annual members meeting, it elected a new board of directors. The board of directors are responsible for management and oversight of the ASF, including the distribution of resources between the organisations various projects. However, the board is not involved in technical decisions within the projects – those responsibilities lie with each of the respective project management committees.

Returning members from last year's board include Shane Curcuru, Doug Cutting, Roy T. Fielding, Jim Jagielski (chairman) and Greg Stein. The new 2010 board members are software developer Bertrand Delacretaz who served on the board from 2008 to 2009, IBM's Sam Ruby, Noirin Shirley from Google and Open Source Architect at Amazon.com Henri Yandell.

Details of previous board meetings and the board calendar are available on the Board Meetings and Calendar page. Shane Curcuru has created a time line of all of the board members.
