OJB logo The Apache DB project decided, in January, to send the Apache ObJectRelationalBridge (OJB) project to the Apache Attic due to inactivity; that move is now complete. OJB was an Object/Relational mapping tool which allowed Java objects to be transparently persisted to a relational database through the use of XML mapping files. It is recommended that anyone still using OJB migrate to either Java Data Objects (JDO) or the Java Persistence API (JPA).

Apache projects are not deleted, but are left in the Attic with other retired projects, complete with their subversion code, mail archives and documentation, which is why it takes time for a project to be completely moved into the attic. If anyone decides, for whatever reason, to reactivate the project, the attic administrators request that they are notified.
