Lucene logo The Apache Lucene project has announced the release of version 3.2 of Lucene and Solr, the full text search engine and the search platform built on it. The update sees Lucene gain a new grouping module that enables results to be grouped by a single index, an index upgrader, a new RAM based Directory implementation, and a new caching Collector for gathering search results.

Solr incorporates these improvements, while adding a new query parser, improved debugging of Explanation objects, a test framework and better performance when highlighting. The releases also incorporate bugfixes and other corrections applied to March's 3.1 release. The new releases are available to download via Apache mirror pages for Lucene and Solr and are available under the Apache Licence 2.0.
