Apache Jackrabbit Logo Almost three months after the release of version 2.0, the Apache Jackrabbit developers have announced the availability of version 2.1 of their open source implementation of version 2.0 of the Content Repository for Java Technology API (JCR 2.0). The latest incremental feature release includes a number of changes over the previous release, such as improvements to remote.

According to the developers, the WebDAV and RMI remoting layers have now been extended to support a wider subset of JCR 2.0 functionality. Other changes include improved JCA packaging, which can be used to enable JCA-based access to any JCR repository that supports the JCR 2.0 RepositoryFactory interface, and the inclusion of a command line tool for browsing or modifying local and remote repositories in the jackrabbit-standalone jar.

More details about the release can be found in the release notes and on the Jackrabbit issue tracker. Apache Jackrabbit 2.1 is available to download from the project's web site and is licensed under version 2.0 of the Apache License.
