The members of the Apache HiveMind project have decided to halt development of the services and configuration microkernel. The HiveMind project is being migrated to the Apache Attic, a repository for no longer developed Apache projects. It is currently the only project in the Attic.

HiveMind allowed services to be created from POJOs (Plain Old Java Objects) as part of a service oriented architecture, and configured and managed by the IoC (Inversion of Control) container and microkernel. The project, which was closely linked to the Apache Tapestry web framework, lost momentum when Tapestry moved to its own IoC container.

It is possible, still, for developers to take the HiveMind code and create a fork outside the Apache project, and the mailing list, website, downloads and issue tracker are remaining open, though the issue tracker is now read only.
