Apache AXIOM version 1.2.8 released

The Apache AXIOM open source project has released version 1.2.8. The object model is based on the Streaming API for XML (StAX) used for processing XML files from Java, and supports the development of object trees. Originally developed as a part of Apache Axis2, AXIOM (AXIs Object Model) has since become the core component of Axis2. The new release contains more than 40 bug fixes and other changes.

One of the models supported by AXIOM allows users to turn off tree building and directly access the underlying pull event stream. The model offers XML Optimized Packaging (XOP) and the SOAP Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism (MTOM) for direct binary support.
