Amarok 2.4.1 adds new "Preview" feature

Amarok Logo The Amarok development team has issued the first point update to version 2.4 of the open source music player for the KDE desktop. According to the developers, the latest version of Amarok addresses a number of bugs and "corner-case crashes", as well as adding some new features.

Code-named "Resolution", Amarok 2.4.1 features the addition of a new "Preview" feature for the Organize Collection dialog, as well as support for remote NFS & SMB/CIFS collections. Users can now change text alignment in the lyrics applet and string filtering has been added to the albums applet.

Plug-ins can now be optionally enabled in the config dialog and the script selector has been moved from the menubar to the config dialog. Support for the gpodder.net podcast directory service is also included.

Amarok 2.4.1 is available to download for various Linux distributions, BSD and other Unix distributions. Amarok is licensed under version 2 of the GNU General Public Licence (GPLv2).
