Adobe AIR for Android now available
As previously announced, Adobe has released a version of its cross-platform Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) environment for Google's open source Android mobile operating system. Originally announced in February, Adobe AIR for mobile devices is based on version 10.1 of the company's Flash Player and it enables developers to build web applications that don't require a browser, but rather run like standalone client applications using HTML, JavaScript, Flash and ActionScript.
Further information about Adobe AIR for Android can be found in an Adobe TV video on the company's site. The Android version of Adobe AIR is available to download from the Android Market and requires Android version 2.2. Adobe AIR is available to download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
