Fedora Geo Spin, is a new proposal for a custom Fedora spin that includes a collection of mapping tools for supporting the OpenStreetMap Project. The plan is to include tools for creating maps, for integration with OpenStreetMap. This would also include several components that can be run on a GPS enabled device.

The proposed GeoSpin will be able to be run from a LiveCD or LiveUSB, enabling laptops to be quickly and temporarily converted for use during OpenStreetMap mapping parties. By having all of these mapping tools installed in advance, the projects proponent says "participants will be able to get to work right away, rather than spending half a day configuring laptops."
