16 fixes in X Server 1.6.1 point release
Although X.Org 7.5 / X Server 1.7 has seen little development work lately there has at least been a point release of the 1.6 X Server series with 16 bug fixes in X Server 1.6.1. Adam Jackson of Red Hat announced the point release yesterday (14th of April).
Keith Packard, X.Org Foundation member and Intel employee had apparently been pushing for the release of X Server 1.6 by the end of 2008 since certain of Intel's customers required some of its new features, but it didn't actually appear until late February 2009. The 1.6 release introduced numerous new features including DR12 and RandR 1.3.
X Server 1.6.1 includes fixes for SELinux usage, RandR, GLX, X Input, XKB, and Xext.
