I would argue with most of your points....
I've been using Linux for almost 5 years. I didn't make the switch
because it was "Free as in Beer", I made the switch because it is
"Free as in Freedom" and I don't mind paying for a piece of software
or a game if it's worth my money, and I certainly bought plenty of
apps on my Android (G1), which by the way was not cheap in the least.
I spent almost 450.00 on my phone buying it from Google (had to have
the dev version of course).
I believe this has more to do with market saturation than anything.
Apple has sold over 30 million iphone/ipod touches since their
release... I believe, don't quote me, but I believe Android is
somewhere around 5 million. Which by anyones standards pale in
comparison.
