Hi,
I work for GroundWork. We don't use spam, scare tactics, or FUD for
any purpose. We DO make extremely powerful open source software easy
to use. There is NO malware or spyware or spamware included in our
packages AT ALL. Period. 
There are some default URL checks included in the community edition,
and some example configs we use to illustrate how to set it up.
Notifications are off by default, but it's easy to turn them on, and,
like any powerful monitoring software, it's possible to use it to
generate emails. 
If you would like to learn how to configure it to properly email the
people you want notified, when they should be, I suggest you attend
one of our "Getting Started with GroundWork" courses. You can
register on our web site. 
Hope you decide to try again, and that you have better luck enabling
the many features of GroundWork Monitor. Once again, there is NO
spamware in GroundWork's software.
