MariaDB is MySql really 05 December 2009 06:56
MariaDb promises to stay synchronised with MySQL at every version and
to be the same from the user's point of view (although using a
different database engine, but Mysql already offers different
database engines). So it seems to me that claiming MariaDB is taking
market share from MySQL is like saying Debian's Iceweasel is taking
market share from Firefox. Certainly a shift from MySQL to MariaDB is
completely different from a shift from MySQL to Postgres.
