Selected events coming up in the UK and elsewhere in January

The H Community Calendar presents the coming month's events in various open source, development, Linux, Unix and other communities, from multi-day conferences to user group get-togethers.

9 January - Ruby - London EC1V

Who: London Ruby User Group
What: Regular monthly meetup – Chris McGrath is giving a talk about lessons learned localising a rails app into nine different languages and Joe Corcoran will talk about building Judge, a client side form validation gem for Rails 3.

What: NWRUG user group meeting – The New Year Lightning Round, a series of lightning talks.

20-21 January - Government - London

Who: UKGovcamp
What: UKGovcamp 2012 – a self-organised unconference for government types with an interest in how the public sector uses technology. Running over two days for the first time: day one consists of crowdsourced unconference sessions, while day two is "GovCamp Doing Things" day.
