e-Book inadvertently hosts adware

Recent distributions of the iRex ILiad e-book have been found to be carrying the imgInSOY worm. The company has emailed all recent purchasers of the ILiad with a warning and instructions for disinfecting their computers. According to the Register a worker in the Philippines factory where the ILiad is assembled accidentally infected the production line via a personal USB stick.

Little technical information is currently available on imgInSOY, but it apparently spreads via removable media using an autorun file to propagate itself and contains adware.
