Mac Open XML converter released

The converter turns current files created in Word, Excel and PowerPoint from Office:mac 2008 and the current Windows version 2007 into the old binary formats. The converter can be downloaded as a 45 MB installation file. It allows users of older Office versions to edit Open XML documents created in Office:mac 2008 and Office 2007 for Windows.

The converter runs as a separate application and can turn documents into binary formats both individually and in batches. It can also be seamlessly integrated in Office 2004, provided the suite has been updated to version 11.5.0. Text documents, spreadsheets, and presentations can then be seamlessly viewed and edited in the Open XML format via the file dialog in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
