Giving the gift of connectivity

3G mobile broadband is an economical option for getting reasonably high-speed web access from a laptop while out on the road – but its target market is getting wider as tariffs get cheaper and easier. Now, Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) contractless offerings are widely available: you pay for a dongle and then only buy chunks of data transfer as and when you want. This makes a 3G dongle a tempting target for internet users who might only want mobile access a couple of times a month, or less.

As Seekbroadband.com points out, with contractless dongles available from around £30 to £50 and usage blocks available by the day, week or month, it's an affordable present for the holidays. For the millions who aren't addicted to the Internet, such a deal could prove cheaper than a permanent landline connection.
