First release for Eclipse Linux Tools

The Eclipse Linux Tools Project has released the first version of its C/C++ integrated development environment (IDE) for Eclipse users who want to develop C and C++ applications on Linux. The currently incubating project provides front ends, through plug-ins, to development tools such as GNU Autotools (automake, autoconf) for configuration and building, Valgrind for heap analysis, OProfile for profiling, RPM for packaging and Systemtap for system information gathering.

The Linux Tools Project is based on the editing and debugging features available in the Eclipse C/C++ Development Tools (CDT). The developers note that being a 0.1.0 release there will be bugs, and encourage people to report them, as they work towards version 0.2.
