Adobe Flash for mobiles
Adobe and ARM, the chip developer, will jointly be porting Flash Player 10, including the AIR runtime for ARM processors. The two companies are concentrating mainly on the ARM11 processors with ARMv6 and ARMv7 architecture. These include CPUs from Texas Instruments, Samsung, Qualcomm, and Freescale. Most owners of mobile phones and smartphones would benefit from this, because most mobile devices contain ARM technology. The promised Flash Player will be designed to make use of graphics accelerators and GPU, where these exist, for videos and graphics.
A runtime environment will ensure that Flash and AIR can run on all mobile operating systems as long as they incorporate an ARM processor. Flash Player 10 for ARM is promised free of charge by Adobe's partners as part of the Open Screen Project.
