Sharepoint truly is a back breaking burden for growing businesses.
Even its online avtaar is not that suitable since it is vanilla
flavored and needs to be implemented and maintained. I haven't
checked social office yet, but we use the HyperOffice Collaboration
and Messaging Suite as an alternative to Sharepoint, and it has been
in this domain for years now. It duplicates nearly all of
Sharepoint's features relevant to a small business, presented as an
end user solution.
