Microsoft has taken Silverlight.net offline and has forwarded the domain to a generic page on the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN). The old web site used to host the official resources for the framework and now, after the move, some content is inaccessible. However, according to a report on InfoQ, the company is working to restore the broken links. Forum profiles of Silverlight.net users have already been migrated to Microsoft's own forums.

Silverlight is a framework for the development and execution of rich web applications. Its runtime is provided by a plugin for several web browsers under Windows and Mac OS X. Silverlight 5 was released in December 2011 and it has not been confirmed whether version 6 will ever be released or if Microsoft plans to keep supporting Silverlight 5 for the foreseeable future without actively developing it.
