RHEL Cloud and virtualisation Full Storage Live Migration support and a framework for plugins are two of the new features included in the now available version 3.2 of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualisation (RHEV). Storage Live Migration allows the storage media that is used by virtual machines to be migrated from one storage domain to another at runtime. The new plugin framework enables programs to access the management interface of Red Hat's virtualisation platform and offer additional interface features to administrators; companies such as HP, NetApp and Symantec plan to use it to provide maintenance and operational features for their products this way.

In the new RHEV, improvements have been made to the way the network configurations of virtual machines and RHEV infrastructures can be adjusted at runtime. The administration portal is now available in more languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Brazilian Portuguese. The developers have also enhanced the support for managing Red Hat Storage, however, this feature is still classed as a Technology Preview and is without official support. An overview of further new features is available in the "What's New?" section of the release notes for RHEV's management components. The product web site offers a free trial version of RHEV, but registration is required.

At the Red Hat Summit, Red Hat also presented the "Red Hat Cloud Infrastructure" – a bundle that includes RHEV, RHEL, Red Hat CloudForms and Red Hat OpenStack. The package is designed to make it easier to get started with operating OpenStack clouds. A similar idea is in play with the "Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform", another new bundle that includes RHEL and Red Hat OpenStack. The two new products are scheduled to become available in July, which gives an indication that Red Hat OpenStack, Red Hat's OpenStack distribution, will complete its test phase in the near future.
