Oracle has announced that, from 13 July, the "My Oracle Support" (MOS) portal will be available to all its customers completely in HTML. Oracle On Demand, Oracle CRM On Demand, Taleo and Configuration Manager users should continue to use the existing Flash interface until then. All other users can use the HTML version now.

According to Oracle, the objective of the switch is to offer "a single-online support portal so that all My Oracle Support users can benefit from the same features and functionality." The switchover will also end MOS support for Internet Explorer 6.

The Flash interface replaced the previous Metalink portal in 2009. That switch was criticised by users, who complained that it was error-prone and slow. There was also some rejection, as many IT departments restrict or block Flash usage.
