No SQL 2012 in TFS 2010
Upgrade to Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2012 or miss out on the benefits of SQL Server 2012 – that's the choice facing users of the Microsoft product following an announcement from TFS product manager Brian Harry. Despite extensive efforts, attempts to get SQL 2012 running on TFS 2010 have now been abandoned as the process was set to take more time and effort than originally assumed.
Harry notes that key SQL Server 2012 features such as AlwaysOn would require major work to implement in TFS 2010 and that this had only become apparent once the developers had started running test cycles, some time after the company had informally promised that the product would be supported. Harry therefore suggests that users keen to enjoy the benefits offered by the new version of the data management system should upgrade to the latest version of Team Foundation Server.
