Zoom Better completion in C# from MonoDevelop
Source: MonoDevelop

MonoDevelop , the free software IDE for C# and .NET languages, has been updated to version 3.0 and now includes a more complete C# code completion engine. This will mean users will experience more reliably and accurate suggestions and navigation, faster find and rename operations, semantic highlighting and a more reliable "on-the-fly" code formatter. Semantic highlighting is a feature which had existed but had been removed from recent versions; the new version is faster and enabled by default.

The MonoDevelop developers have also experimentally added source analysis and context aware Quick fixes. For Mac developers, MonoDevelop now has a MonoMac addin which makes it easier to deploy applications to the Mac App Store, an improved Plist (property list) editor and preliminary support for Microsoft Visual Studio Portable Library Projects (PLP). Android developers will find a new drag and drop UI designer for creating the Android XML layouts needed by Mono for Android applications; a tutorial from Xamarin covers the how to use the tool.

Other changes include a Virtual Indent Mode which handles leading white space differently only adding whitespace when needed on new lines, an overhauled Assembly browser and performance improvements for large projects. Release notes summarise the changes while a more detailed description of the changes is available in What's new in MonoDevelop 3.0. MonoDevelop binaries and source are available from the project's download page. Source is also available from MonoDevelop's GitHub repository. MonoDevelop is published under the LGPL 2.1.
