LiveRebel 2.5 is the latest update of ZeroTurnaround's Java EE server management and application deployment tool. The program allows Java applications to be updated automatically without any downtime, with dependencies tracked and managed for those applications. Administrators can test, deploy and also uninstall updates for application server environments such as Tomcat, JBoss, Oracle Weblogic, IBM WebSphere, Glassfish and Jetty.

The latest version is capable of updating large production environments, with the developers offering an example of updating 800 Tomcat servers on Amazon EC2. A major new feature of the update is support for configuration scripts that can be used to perform tests, one-shot updates, updates of static content, activation of services, or to trigger other deployments when an application is deployed. Scripts can be triggered at initialisation, when an application is brought up or down, or just when it is visible.

The developers have also made server management clearer and easier to use with the ability to group server instances. Version 2.5 also supports single sign-on in the enterprise, with user authentication against LDAP directory services including Active Directory; extra passwords are no longer necessary. The program can automatically search for updates to itself at the LiveRebel Update Centre and can now find old versions of previous deployments and delete them to save disk space, depending on the clean-up policy. The developers have also improved the integration of Jenkins/Hudson and Bamboo with the addition of "upload" and "undeploy" options to complement the "update" and "deploy" commands.

Pricing for LiveRebel 2.5 is given by request though a thirty-day free trial is available for evaluators.
