LINQ Insight DevArt, a company that offers various database tools, has released version 2.0 of LINQ Insight. The Visual Studio add-on allows LINQ queries to be executed directly from the code at design time. The new release supports the RavenDB document-oriented database and the developers have worked to improve performance and have added a number of other enhancements.

While previous versions of LINQ Insight only supported simple parameter types, the software can now handle the List<T> class and array parameters, which can be viewed in a "convenient editor dialog box". The new version also integrates better with Visual Studio Designer, and the developers have significantly revised the Connection String Builder.

LINQ Insight requires Visual Studio 2010 or 2012. The software is available to download free of charge and includes a 30-day trial version of the LINQ Insight Standard Edition, a commercial version with extra features that costs just under $100.
