Developer Break: New BlackBerry 10 SDKs, Dropbox Sync API

Developer Break – catch up on the smaller but important notes for developers, from libraries to APIs and from people to postings. This week: Infinispan 5.2, DynamoDB connector for Eclipse BIRT, Groundwork, Atlassian Stash 2.1, new BlackBerry 10 SDKs, a Dropbox Sync API, Coding4Fun toolkit 2.0, and a beta of Qt Creator 2.7.

• Version 5.2.0 of the grid computing platform Infinispan has been released. New features include non-blocking state transfer and cross-site replication. There is, already, a bug fix release in the shape of version 5.2.1 too.
  

• Actuate's ActuateOne connector for DynamoDB allows users of Eclipse BIRT projects to access data stored in Amazon's cloud database.
  

• The open source toolkit Groundwork enables developers to create explicitly responsive web designs. The toolkit is built with Sass and its developers praise the grid system as "the last grid you'll ever need".
  

• Atlassian has released Stash 2.1, the latest version of its enterprise Git repository manager, which includes a build status APO and a pull request inbox.
  

• For developers targeting BlackBerry 10 with their applications, new SDKs have been released that support the physical keyboard and the 720x720 screen resolution of the BlackBerry Q10. A new version of the web application framework Sencha Touch also supports BlackBerry 10.
  

• The Dropbox team has published a Sync API for mobile applications. The API is designed to help with the synchronisation and caching of remote data and should deal with dropped connections transparently.
  

• Version 2.0 of Coding4Fun's toolkit for Windows Phone development includes several namespace changes that users migrating from version 1.6 of the toolkit should be aware of.
  

• The developers of Qt Creator have released the first beta version of Qt Creator 2.7 which includes improved C++11 support as one of 1300 changes since the last release.
