Developer Break – catch up on the smaller but important notes for developers, from libraries to APIs and from people to postings. This week: Facebook SDK for Android 3.0, a new logo for Fiddler, Nashorn adopted into OpenJDK, AWS Toolkit for Eclipse, Eclipse Community Awards, Dart is faster than V8, Xamarin.Mac, GPARS 1.0, Wine 1.5.19, more open source from Netflix, and App Engine 1.7.4.

  • Developers can now write C# application for Mac OS X with Xamarin.Mac .

  • The first release candidate for Groovy Parallel Systems (GPars) 1.0 is now available. The framework is designed to provide Java developers with better parallelisation capabilities.

  • After releasing its open source Hystrix resilience library, Netflix has now made a dashboard available that allows users to quickly discover event data. The developers have also released the source code for Turbine, their in-house data aggregator.

  • Google's final release of App Engine for the year comes with a new Maven plugin and a Python interpreter based on version 2.7.3 of Python. App Engine 1.7.4 also expands support for hosting applications within the EU.
